About Hectic Promotions

Hectic Promotions is a registered non-profit corporation which is currently active with various community-based charity projects in collaboration with the Tshwane Metro, the City of Drakenstein and the non-profit organisation Cycle4Food .

Our charity-based organisation boasts a proven record of accomplishment in presenting mass participation cycling events which fulfil the requirements of our sponsors, stakeholders and beneficiaries.

We are recognised by Cycling South Africa and the cycling public as one of the foremost cycling event organisation companies with a long history of presenting prestigious events on the national cycling calendar.

Hectic Promotions manages two mass participation road cycling events which attract a combined participation total of 12 000 cyclists. The Bestmed Cycle4Cansa Classic is now in its 22nd year of presentation and 2018 saw us present the second edition of the Tshwane Classic, which attracted 5000 cyclists in its first staging and 7000 cyclists last year.

These entry figures continue to grow through meticulous detail to organisational excellence as well as our extensive rider and media database to whom we market these events actively.

We also assume the organisational responsibility for the Paarl Boxing Day Track Meeting. The Paarl Boxing Day Track Meeting is the oldest cycling event in the world. Last year saw the 121st staging of the event, which has not skipped a year since its inception in 1897.

It attracts a capacity 5000 spectators annually to the Faure Street Stadium and is supported by the Western Cape Government and the City of Drakenstein.

Huis Mia Paarl is the official beneficiary of Paarl Boxing Day. Huis Mia Paarl is an NPO and temporary safe care facility for abandoned and adoptable new-born babies.

Following extended consultation with stakeholders, we are presenting a new event on the calendar this year. the Tshwane Diamond Cycle Classic in Cullinan takes place on 26 May 2019 to raise further funds for CHOC and the Cycle4Food community-based projects.

The event is also aimed at promoting tourism in the area, alleviate poverty in the communities and to continue to increase, in particular, the footprint of our Green Caps Recycling Program which was successfully launched in Tshwane two years ago.

Cycle4Food is active with various community-based upliftment projects in Tshwane and we are extending  its reach to Cullinan in collaboration with the Tshwane Metro.

Our events count among the top ten in South Africa as far as media values, prestige and participant totals are concerned. They are permanent fixtures on the Cycling South Africa calendar.
